What Makes Our Course Different?
Most tutors or test prep companies have students take practice tests and only review the questions that they answer incorrectly. The problem with that approach is that students never learn the proper strategies to read passages and answer questions. To achieve a great score on the SAT Reading Test, you need to fully understand how the test works, how to best attack it, and how to use the patterns of the test to your advantage.
Our course offers the most comprehensive instruction that teaches students everything they need to know about the SAT Reading Test. In this course, students the 5 most effective approaches to use when reading the passages, how to spot and approach the 13 types of questions, the 5 common incorrect answers to avoid, expert tips to manage time, and much much more. After completing this course, students will have the knowledge and confidence to post their best score ever on test day.
The Four Pillars of Our Course
Master All 13 Question Types
By learning how to spot and approach the 13 types of question on the SAT Reading, students develop a thorough understanding of how to best mentally approach each question to find the correct answer. Each type of question is discussed in-depth in lectures, and students complete many practice questions to learn how to properly apply the concepts. After mastering each question type, students have the knowledge to assess why each answer choice is correct or incorrect and can efficiently answer questions correctly.
Take Advantage of Patterns
Pattern recognition is an incredibly important skill and one that very few programs and tutors properly teach. We teach students how to use the patterns of the test to their advantage. The SAT does not make it obvious what each question is testing students on, so being able to distinguish what techniques to apply and know where to go in the passage is crucial to answering questions correctly.
Proven Test-Taking Strategies
Proven test-taking strategies help students properly pace themselves and understand how to best attack the section. Overall strategies are discussed at the beginning of the course, and more specific strategies to use for each type of question are integrated into each chapter.
Applied Practice
Students will complete practice passages for each question type and 10 full practice passages that accurately reflect SAT passages. Each practice question has a video answer explanation to help students most effectively learn from their mistakes and drive continuous improvement.
